To add to the message of lemma:
I had similar problems with Winclone 7.3 and Mojave (10.14.1), but using WIM method. In this case Winclone sometimes simply does not continue after a few seconds and creates an image that is about the same size that you reported.
Sometime it helped to quit Winclone and try again. Or use Winclone 7.2.1.
with winclone 7.2.1 the same problem.
Look at the log and it should show what the issue is:
log show --style syslog --predicate 'process contains[cd] "winclone"' --info --last 2d
(you can adjust the argument of “2d” from 2 days to other time periods that you want the log, like “10m” for the last 10 minutes or 3h for the last 3 hours).
