Does Winclone 8 destroy MacPro 4,1/5,1 Hardware?

-> installed win10 from dvd in legacy/bios mode on an empty ssd
-> made a clone with Winclone 5 (on Mac OS 10.11.6)
-> restored it on another machine to an empty ssd with Winclone 5 (on Mac OS 10.11.6) without any problem

-> now tried to restore same clone on a third machine (Winclone 8 on 10.14.6) to an empty ssd
-> ends two time with same error and puts an internal drive named ‘efi’ on my desktop

background:

it has to be 100% sure that winclone restores to exact the same mode (legacy/bios) and NEVER switches the clone efi-mode!

so: what’s wrong with Winclone 8?

cheers
tom

i’m not the kind of user who reclaims his money for the update here but rather the one who owns a purchased version of winclone and had just bought an update and had already sent 50$ as a thank you with paypal on 29.07.2009 when winclone was still free.

but for an answer/solution you wait here obviously in vain …

Winclone will determine if the target machine is EFI or legacy bootable and set the boot record accordingly. I am not sure what that article is talking about since setting EFI means copy files to the EFI partition (which is a FAT formatted volume) and potentially updates the master boot record. It never changes the BootROM (and doesn’t have the capability to do that).

I would recommend try setting to legacy bootable in the Tools menu after you go that error:
