Error mounting EFI on disk /dev/disk1

Hello there.
Restore remains stuck at almost 90%.
Error log shows at the end “Error mounting EFI on disk /dev/disk1”.
I’ve tried everything: SIP is disabled, EFI partition is mountable, bootcamp partitioned as exFAT…what else did I miss!?

Such a waste of time!

I see the issue. The disk1 doesn’t have an EFI partition. This partition should exist on all GPT disks. Did you format it with the Windows installer?

No, I didn’t!

Meanwhile:

  • I made disk0 “busy” (creating one NFTS partition on the whole disk) so that it couldn’t be taken;
  • I completely reinstalled macOS again on disk1;
  • I launched Bootcamp assistant, which created the NTFS partition con disk1;
  • I tried again to restore.

Result attached.

Before reinstalling macOS, partitioning has been made with GParted.

P.S.: Both disk0 and disk1 are internal and installed by Apple support as an upgrade.

I’m giving up…time up.

You have NO efi partition, what do you want to mount ?
Use Apple Disk Utility to partition disks, not 3rd party tools
