Issues cloning Bootcamp drive

Hi, just got Winclone9 yesterday. I am trying to clone my existing Bootcamp partition to my NVME SSD, which is still unsuccessful after x number of tries.

My stuff:
Big Sur on 16" MBP
Used W10 1909 ISO for bootcamp installation
SSD is XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB in Orico enclosure

Steps I did:

  1. Vol to Vol – didn’t work because of block mismatch. Proceeded to suggestion…
  2. Create Image from Vol – success, saved to Desktop
  3. Restore Image from saved clone file – failed.

Here are the logs:

Already reinstalled Big Sur (clean), tried latest W10 ISO release, deleted/reinstalled Bootcamp a couple of times. Still unsuccessful.

I read through a couple of articles and topics here and I still could not get it to work. Am I missing something?

Can you try creating the image in File mode (WIM) set in the preferences? That may resolve the mounting the drive after restore.

Hi Tim. Got a Windows computer instead, schedule didn’t permit further troubleshooting. Thanks!

I have the same issue. Wanting to change my HDD to and SDD on my 2015 Mac which has Big Sur loaded on it. Cloned the Mac partition to the SSD pretty easily. Then created the partition for Bootcamp to match the same size as I currently have. Used WinClone to create a restorable backup file of the existing Bootcamp. Then Restored the winclone file to the Bootcamp partition on the SSD. Everything seems to work fine and has no errors. However, I can’t boot into the SSD Bootcamp… I keep getting the Blue Screen of death.
Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix this (please keep in mind I’m not a programmer or tech guy per say).

What is the error message on the blue screen? If it is inaccessible boot device, then it is related to drivers.

tim

Yes, it is the inaccessible boot device. So how do I go about fixing it? Or should I be requesting a refund if the software can’t do what it claims.

you can request a refund here:
