Network deployment

Hi,

I’m currently running a deployment on several MacBook Airs booting from the recovery partition and using a http server to serve the images . To make this deployment faster I’m using ethernet dongles but I have a limited amount of them , so I was wondering if the dongle needs to be connected to the computers until the deployment finishes or does anyone know if the deployment image gets downloaded locally to the computer and once that is copied if will run everything locally and not from the http server.
I would like to know if at some point I can unplug the dongle and move it to a different computer without affecting the active deployment computer.

Thanks.

The dongle can be removed at the first reboot. All the resources are downloaded to the target partition before install begins. I don’t think that it is documented anywhere, but that has been my (and others) experience.

Thanks!!! , I will try it that way.
