Quick install on external SSD Drive

Hi,

I’m using a MacBook Pro 2019, with Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1. I just a bought a new external SSD Drive from LaCie that plugs via USB-C.

I want to have Bootcamp on this external drive, so I bought Winclone 10 and used the “Quick Install Windows”. Everything went fine and I can see this drive in my startup disk.

When I tried to boot in Windows on this drive, I get the following message :

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an
unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To
install Windows, click OK to restart the computer, and then
restart the installation.

What am I missing?

Not sure if this is the issue, but some have found that this error can be resolved by a registry setting:

Thanks, I’ll look into it.

I’m using the same mbp and when I try to quick install windows 10 to external thunderbolt 3 drive
it doesn’t exists on the list

am I missing something ?

Does it show the internal drives? It should show any MS-DOS/ExFAT/NTFS partition that is mounted.
