Winclone 6 Hangs at "Creating Files" on Restore

I’m not able to restore any WIM backups or clone my Windows drive. I can create WIM backups (a file in the package is Windows.wim, so I’m calling it a WIM backup for clarity) of the same Windows drive no problem. But when I try to either restore a backup or clone the drive I get all the way to “Creating files” and the system hangs. It’s stayed there for over three hours before I quit. After this episode I found that something like 150Mb of files had copied to the new drive. The destination is a flash drive, but it’s not THAT slow. Here is the console log, on verbose mode…

It does NOTHING after this point, and I’m not waiting a week to copy the 21.70GB image this way. Any idea what’s going on???

FYI I ran the Winclone executable via Terminal, with the “sudo” command and password, just to be sure it wasn’t being denied access to something. Still no luck.

Hi.
I can’t start winclone 6

I updated from 6.1.2 to 6.2.3 (I think) and I’m trying again today. So far it’s still hanging at “Creating Files”; is it just crazy slow? Is this supposed to take days? I’m installing onto a 120GB Samsung flash USB, which has never given me any problems. I erased and formatted it FAT, GEID scheme. Here’s the verbose log today:

It just hangs here. I wish there was a more dynamic indicator of progress; I have no idea what speed the data is transferring, if any. Is there another way to check this? Thanks!

It definitely should not take days. There should be progress indicator and entries in the log. Try turning on verbose logging in the preference, and open up Activity Viewer in Utilities to see if there is any CPU usage or if the disk is being written to.

Tim,
Not sure if you read my previous posts. Verbose logging is enabled. It is writing to the disk, but at a rate of tens of kilobytes per second, since several hours yields a transfer of less than two hundred megabytes (it may have been all at once, I don’t know). I also tried making a package, and using the package to install the backup to the same flash drive; the package failed with an error. Says to contact software manufacturer. I looked in the console, and when the package runs there are reports for “deleted” which correspond to the times I’m running the install. There are many errors that occur; unfortunately there is a limit to how much I can include in this post, but here is a portion…
