So, I am trying to deal with a pretty bad issue when restoring a Windows 7 image, and just don’t know how to proceed, and would very much appreciate some expert guidance.
I bought Winclone 6 (Basic) to restore a Win 7 Pro image I made on my current Macbook Pro 2013, 3 years ago (yeah, I’m trying to restore a 3 year-old image, it didn’t change much since then). When the image was made, I remember doing the mandatory “chkdsk c: /r”, “sfc /scannow”, and other types of cleanup prior to creating the image.
Now, on my current macbook, I made sure to disable SIP, created a “FAT” partition on my hard drive ~0.5GB larger than the image, and tried restoring to that. After about 40 minutes, it failed, with a very general sounding name like “Recovery failed”, and I am stuck.
How should I proceed to successfully reinstall my Bootcamp image? Thanks in advance.
Did you look in the log? That should give more information about the error message. Also, if it is related to booting, then you can set it to be EFI/Legacy bootable in the Tools menu and it still should work (or give you a better error message).

Was trying to set that Legacy boot option somewhere in my Winclone 6, but that option does not seem to show up.
