Helper won’t install properly and it seems that it won’t backup stating “Cloning Error: Error setting permissions on device /dev/disk0s4” and then followed by “The image was created successfully” when the image created is obviously useless.

How do I get around this and I’ve tried reinstalling and that didn’t help

Where are you saving the image? There is a “readonly” error.

tim

I got that readonly because I was trying to save Winclone in a time machine backup volume. But I changed the save destination and it’s still no good. I get the following dialogue:

Cloning Error: Error setting permissions on device /dev/disk0s4

This is now the log:

There is an issue with the helper, and reinstalling doesn’t work/not doing anything.

Have the same issue and haven’t been able to solve it no way.

It is definitely the helper crashing:

Error connecting to priv helper: Couldn’t communicate with a helper

Can you zip up and send the crash log from /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ to support@twocanoes.com and reference a link to this form post? I’ll take a look at it and respond back. It should be named something like WincloneHelper_2020-04-22-110936_something.
