Winclone 8 /Catalina - No bootcamp volume selectable

Winclone 8.0 (46086) on Catalina official release is failing to show a selectable Boot Camp partition in “Create Image from Volume”. Bootcamp partition (NTFS) is mounted and visible in finder.

This is the diskutil output:

diskutil list

Winclone also verifies that the folder Windows is at the top level and has a folder in it called System32. That is how it determines if it is Windows.

Also, do a “diskutil info disk0s3” and makes sure the filesystem type is ntfs. 3rd party drivers can change that.

Hi Tim,

Uninstalled FUSE for OSX, rebooted and now winclone is working.
I did not have any Fuse clients installed.

Hello there, please can you assist me with resolving an issue, which appears to be a little different than the one indicated above, as from the diskutil information for disk0s3, I see the file system shows MS-DOS (FAT), rather than NTFS.

  • I have Bitlocker engaged, and I see in another post here that this could be the problem, so I’ll disable this and comment here again after I test this!

I don’t see anything referencing FUSE to uninstall.

  • The issue is that there is no selectable volume for Winclone to create an image from (see screenshot).

Looking forward to any ideas, thank you!03

RESOLVED - Bitlocker was keeping Winclone from recognising a selectable volume to create an image. Turning off Bitlocker solved the problem.
