Winclone image size

Hi foks,

My bootcamp partition is 65GB and is currently using 49GB of the 65GB. I just created an image on an external drive in preparation for replacing the SSD in my rMBP. The image is ~24GB. Is this typical? Does Winclone compress the bootcamp files when creating the image?

Thanks,

Aron

Winclone doesn’t copy the swap files or hibernate files, which can be large, and also compresses the data. If you have 16GB of memory, the hibernate / swap could account for a lot of that space.

I do have 16GB of RAM. I’ll doing some double checking before doing anything.

Thanks.
